La’dor Hydro LPP Treatment Review

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

I’m slowly getting back into a routine of publishing regularly. If you’ve been following my blog, you might know that our family welcomed a new baby hobbit back in March, and the old routine went out of the window. Unsure what to review next, I did a quick poll in my Facebook group and haircare was a clear winner. Ask and you shall receive, folks!

I bought La’dor Hydro LPP Treatment several months ago. It’s available in different sizes on eBay and YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings). I chose the large 530ml pump bottle because I’ve had great results with other La’dor products in the past (reviews here). There’s also a 150ml tube option and a 1 liter refill pouch.

I have straight, naturally blonde (but colored red with henna for years now) hair. It’s not nearly as thick as I would like it to be. New moms often go for short hairstyles, but I prefer my long (past my shoulders) braid. Of course, long hair can only stay that way if it’s healthy, doesn’t break off and doesn’t tangle much.

The La’dor Hydro LPP Treatment is a slightly acidic conditioner-like product. It contains low molecular polypeptide which helps the active ingredients penetrate into the hair strands and repair them. The treatment includes olive and jojoba oils to support healthy hair, hydrolyzed silk for a healthy shine, and panthenol to restore damaged strands.

The product is formulated with gentle ingredients and doesn’t use ethanol, parabens, or silicone. It is 5-free.

How to use:

  • Apply to damp, clean hair (the official instructions say to spread from root to tip, but I avoid putting any treatments on my scalp as my roots are oily)

  • Leave on for a few minutes (I usually do 10), rinse thoroughly

  • Style as usual (I use a wet brush and then allow the hair to air dry)

My impressions:

I’ve been using this product one to two times a week for months (again, so happy I got the large size!). It has the consistency of a thick hair conditioner (not as thick as most masks). The smell is divine, which isn’t surprising given the brand. I wash my hair every other day or every two days, so usually a treatment once a week is enough for me and the effect lasts for a couple of washes.

My husband always comments that my hair smells very good afterwards. I appreciate the ease of use - the treatment is applied just like hair conditioner. My hair is shiny (not greasy), tangle free and smooth, even if I can only keep the treatment on for a couple of minutes. Because I have an oily scalp, it’s very important that a product doesn’t make the hair oily - and this doesn’t. I will definitely be repurchasing (probably a large refill bag) when I run out.
