La’dor Scalp Scaling Spa Ampoule Review

Greasy hair has been the bane of my existence since high school. I have fine, straight blonde hair (that I color with henna monthly). My scalp is oily, but the hair strands themselves are quite dry. It’s incredibly difficult not to shampoo every day, because by morning I typically have a greasy nest on my head. And yet shampooing daily can strip the scalp of beneficial oils, make the hair brittle and more prone to damage, wash out the precious hair color and so on - most stylists advise against daily shampooing.

Dry shampoo helps with the oily roots, but with time all those particles accumulate on the scalp, clog the pores and make the oiliness issue worse. Most of us already know the benefits of exfoliation for the face (read about my favorites here), and the same principle applies to the scalp.

The La’dor Scalp Scaling Spa Ampoule is my first and only product of this kind. I think I’ve gone through at least 6 tubes by now. The product comes in small tubes with a pointed dispenser and has the consistency of thick hair conditioner. One tube is enough for 3-4 uses, and the amount is consistent regardless of your hair length (since it’s applied on the scalp). It can be ordered on eBay and Amazon.

The ampoule removes residue and buildup from shampoos, masks, and styling products. It helps get rid of dandruff (so says the manufacturer, I have no personal experience here as I don’t have dandruff), stimulates circulation. The castor oil in the ingredients is famous for its aid in hair growth.

How to use:

  • Shampoo your hair

  • Apply the ampoule to the scalp

  • Massage the scalp for 1-2 minutes. At this time, the product starts to have a very pleasant cooling effect and smells like mint. There’s no discomfort associated with the use.

  • Massage another 1-2 minutes, including your hair this time (to remove any buildup from the roots)

  • Wash off with water

  • If you use conditioner, then apply it at this time from about your ear level to the ends. Wash off as usual.

My impressions:

Well, if my 6 tubes didn’t give it away… I love it! And I seriously have no desire to try any other scaling products, although I’m sure there are others on the market. My hair used to look oily by evening if I washed it in the morning. Now, that is no longer the case. I can easily wash it every other day or even less frequently (HUGE improvement for me), and I don’t even have to use dry shampoo all the time! I use the ampoule 1-2 times a week.
