XYCOS Pink Collagen Toner Review

I have an unhealthy obsession with toners. I don’t know why, but it’s the easiest step of Korean beauty routine to hoard. At one time, I had 8 different ones in my rotation; I’m too afraid to count now. When XYCOS offered to send me one of theirs to try, of course I said yes.

XYCOS Pink Collagen Toner promises to smooth out wrinkles and make the skin soft and radiant. The 120 ml bottle contains a clear (maybe slightly pink, but looks clear to me) gel. I enjoy the convenient pump - a somewhat unusual packaging style for toners, but it’s so much easier to dispense the product than shaking it out of a small hole, which seems to be a more widely used packaging style. The toner is sold on the XYCOS official website.

The company’s site states the product is certified vegan, yet there is honey in the ingredients. I’m not sure about EVE Vegan (the organization that certified this specific toner), but in the USA honey isn’t considered vegan, because it’s a product of bees. Everyone decides for themselves, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

How to use:

  • Apply after cleansing

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

  • Can be used morning and night

See how I use it in this video (starting at 17:25 time). The star ingredients of XYCOS Pink Collagen Toner are collagen (of course), berries, and rosehips. It also contains hyaluronic acid, witch hazel, and green tea. A full list of ingredients is available at the end of the review.

My impressions:

This is an interesting product. I like the pump packaging and the light gel texture. The toner gets absorbed quickly and doesn’t cause any stickiness. The scent is… unique. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s definitely unusual. At first all I can smell is rose (probably from rosehips, I’m not quite sure), and then I get a pronounced minty note. Rose and mint isn’t a combination I have experienced before. And I can’t figure out what in the ingredients makes it minty.

I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry/normal everything else. A toner is my first layer of hydration after a cleanse, the very first chance to restore some of the lost moisture to the skin. XYCOS Pink Collagen Toner does this job very well. I like that it has niacinamide in the ingredients, as that can help with pigmentation spots. Overall, I’m happy with the product and will continue using it.
