Whamisa Organic Seeds Lip Moisture advertises itself as a nourishing lip balm made with nourishing vegan waxes, oils, and butters. I’m giggling as I type this… keep reading. It’s available on Amazon and YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT).
This product is vegan and cruelty free. That’s all I got for “pros”...
My impressions
Why is this called lip “moisture”? Is it a practical joke? There’s nothing moisturizing about this balm. I struggle even calling it a balm - it’s more like a wickless, old, stale candle. So hard and waxy and not very easy to use. Sure, some of it eventually rubs off on the lips, but getting to that point is almost a workout. A piece of it BROKE OFF after I opened the tube… It chipped off like an old chunk of paint. And no, it’s not expired and I got it from the official Whamisa website.
My husband said “well, at least it’s not greasy”. Always the optimist…
I’m not even sure what to do with this product now. I obviously can’t pass it on to friends, I don’t want to throw it away, and I also don’t really want to use it… I have to push so hard to get any of it to deposit to the lips that I made them sore once. This was a hard fail coming off of DHC lip balm (which is amazing and like a hug for the lips). Maybe if I find some extra patience, I can hold it to the lips long enough to actually soften it. I tried using it as a cuticle softener and it doesn’t even leave a mark on my hands. It could probably work as a tiny hammer. Have I mentioned this is $12? I can buy at least 2 four-packs of tofu at Costco for that…
