Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Refresh Review

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Refresh, available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), features Yuzu extract for a brighter, more even skin tone. It promises a “delightful citrus scent” and light, watery texture.

How to use

  • Apply after cleansing using cotton pads or hands

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

The bottle is made from beautiful, frosted glass with a twist off lid. The toner is, indeed, quite watery but I wouldn’t describe the scent as “delightful”. It’s strong and not particularly pleasant. I’m keeping the review pretty short, because I don’t have much good to say.

My impressions

Once again, Whamisa brings nothing but disappointment. How can this beautiful packaging contain such a lackluster product? Maybe Whamisa should make vases and not skincare…

My main gripe is the scent. And it’s rare that I can’t look past the fragrance, but in this case it’s so strong that it tends to bother my eyes. I also find the toner drying and not kind to the skin. I’ve resorted to using it on the body, because I don’t want to waste it and I don’t have any friends whose facial skin could tolerate this. My skin is combination and not particularly sensitive, but this toner still manages to bother it.

I’m not a cosmetic chemist, but were all those essential oils really needed? The toner has bergamot, orange, and rosewood oil, as well as other oils - full ingredients list is at the end of the article. What are they contributing other than a very strong smell and an increased chance for irritation? I’m all for organic skincare if that’s what people want, but shouldn’t it also be gentle?

Anyway, 0/10 don’t recommend. The only thing I like about this product is the packaging / visual appeal. And that’s not enough to justify a $40+ price tag. If you like Yuzu and want a brightening product, I recommend something from the Some By Mi yuja line, such as their serum (review here), sleeping mask, or a toner. I’d skip Whamisa.
