I don’t overhaul my entire skincare routine based on the season, but I do adjust some things. One of those things is moisturizer - I prefer lighter formulas in the Summer.

TIA'M Pore Minimizing 21 Cream promises to visibly reduce shine, the appearance of pores, and blackheads. The star ingredients are willow bark (natural source of BHA), niacinamide, and panthenol. The cream is available on Amazon and YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT).

TIA'M Pore Minimizing 21 Cream

How to use

  • Apply to the face after toner and serum

  • Gently pat in

TIA'M Pore Minimizing 21 Cream has a light, pleasant texture that dries down to a natural / slightly matte finish. Not a hint of stickiness or tackiness. I don’t notice a scent.

The reason behind “21” in the product name is that it promises to deliver results in 21 days. I love this! We live in the world of instant gratification and loud marketing, with brands all too eager to advertise immediate results. And some influencers add fuel to the fire with exaggerated reactions and fake enthusiasm. Setting more realistic timelines and expectations is right up my alley.

My impressions

What a lovely cream for people with oily and combo skin like mine! I love how nice my face feels after the moisturizer dries - no stickiness and good oil control without causing excessive dryness.

I’m enjoying the results as well - the pores on my nose and cheeks are less noticeable with smaller sebaceous filaments. I’m also seeing a reduction in oil during the day, especially on the nose and forehead. To be fair, I also use oil control primer and powder, so it’s hard to tease out Tia’m results when it comes to skin sebum. But primers and powder don’t do anything for the appearance of pore size - that benefit is from the cream.

I’m a recovering skin picker (I used to pop my face every single evening), so controlling blackheads and sebaceous filaments is huge for me. It’s way less tempting to pick at the skin if I cannot see tiny black dots all over. Pore Minimizing 21 Cream has been a regular part of my skincare routine (2-3 times a week) for over a month and I am seeing results. You may see faster or more significant progress with daily use, but I started slow since I also use retinoids. I want to make sure I do not over exfoliate or irritate the skin barrier with a BHA product on top of tretinoin. I use Tia’m and tretinoin on different nights and haven’t had any issues.

I probably wouldn’t use this as my only moisturizer all year, because I like a richer formula at least a few nights a week in the Fall and Winter. But it’s wonderful for those nights when I don’t want anything heavy, and of course great for hot Summers. I only use this cream at night for no reason other than being too lazy for moisturizer in the mornings (sunscreen will do). If you have oily or combo skin and want some help with oil and pore appearance, I cannot recommend this cream enough!
