Sunscreen is the most important part of a skincare routine. It’s a single step that protects from premature aging and skin cancer, and I wish more people realized that SPF isn’t just for beach days. I use sunscreen daily and love testing new formulas.
SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-fit Sun Serum is the newest addition to the SKIN1004 family. I already love their physical sunscreen (review here), but it has some drawbacks / white cast for people with deeper skin tones. The new sunscreen is available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), and Olive Young (code KBHOBBIT77). It promises to soothe and protect the skin with no white cast.
In addition to being a sunscreen, this product also includes beneficial ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica, green tea and broccoli extracts, and arugula leaf. I personally do not expect skincare benefits beyond sun protection from my SPF, but see it as a nice bonus. This is especially handy in the summer, when my morning routine is often just sunscreen.

SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-fit Sun Serum uses chemical filters and has a natural, non-greasy finish with no white cast and a light lotion texture. I do not notice a scent. The packaging is somewhat unique - a tube with a pump dispenser. I prefer this to regular squeeze tubes as it takes less effort to get the product out once the bottle is no longer totally full.
My impressions
I’m in love with SKIN1004 hyalu-cica sunscreen! I took it with me when I went to meet the brand in Las Vegas (read about that here) and it didn’t disappoint! I have combination, freckle-prone skin that burns incredibly quickly and easily. I applied and re-applied this sunscreen daily for three days, including around my eyes, neck, ears, and arms, and didn’t burn at all. I also didn’t have any unpleasant issues like pilling, even with many reapplications. I use this in my regular non-Vegas life as well, but those three days had much more sun and heat exposure than my normal life.
I love the finish - it’s very natural, not shiny and not drying. I use powder over most sunscreens, but don’t have to do that here. The sun serum works just fine under makeup as well. Overall, there isn’t a single bad thing I can say here, other than I need this to come in a giant pump bottle so I can keep it on my bathroom counter and bathe in it every morning.
