Romand is a fantastic makeup brand! I love their eye quads, glosses, etc. When I saw a new to me lip product - glasting water gloss - I had to have it. I was so excited for these that I got them in two colors - Meteor Track and Sanho Crush. The gloss is sold on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), and Stylevana (code INF10KBH).
How to use
Apply a desired amount from inner to outer lip
Romand promises a voluminous, sparkling finish that can be used with other lip products for the most dramatic effect. The glosses feature a plastic applicator that can be wiped clean after use - handy if you plan on layering this over lipsticks and don’t want to contaminate the whole tube with the other color.
My impressions
This was such an unexpected fail. I’ve had many different Romand products in the past - the brand makes some of my favorite lip tints and glosses. The Glasting Water Gloss, however, has one huge drawback - a horrible taste. I don’t lick my lips, especially not when wearing lip makeup, but the weird flavor of this product permeates into my mouth immediately after application. There’s no escape. I never tasted paint thinner, but I imagine it would taste somewhat similar.
I opened Sanho Crush first and was immediately disappointed by it. For a little while I hoped that it was just that color or that specific tube that had the taste issue, but sadly - no. I gave Meteor Track to my daughter and she commented on the gross taste as well.
I like the glossy finish and the small sparkles that shine so pretty in the sun, but I cannot use either of these. There’s no hygienic way to pass them on, so sadly Romand Glasting Water Gloss will be joining a couple of other things in the trash. What a waste. Buyer beware.
