I’ve been really into lip makeup lately, maybe because I finally decided to use up some of my collection, or maybe because it’s a small way to keep sadness away. True happiness is often found in pockets of joy and not in huge events. A friend suggested I look into the Rom&nd Lip Matter, available on Jolse, because it’s so interesting.
The Lip Matter turns any lipstick into a matte formula without causing dryness. This is a silicone-based product featuring nourishing avocado, coconut, and mango butter. A full list of ingredients is available at the end of the article.

I apply this as a lip base, mostly because I don’t want to get lip color on the applicator.
My impressions
I would rename this a “lip primer”, at least the way I use it, but I suppose that wouldn’t be an accurate title for those who utilize it as a mattifying top coat. I have combination skin but very dry lips, and many lipsticks or even lip tints tend to settle into the dry patches and look uneven. The Rom&nd Lip Matter fixes that for me. The key is to apply only a little bit, preferably in the beginning of my skincare routine. And then follow with lip makeup of choice at the end, which gives Rom&nd a chance to sink into the lips, smoothing the surface. Anything I apply over it looks significantly smoother and more even. I’ve noticed a somewhat mattifying effect, but that wasn’t my goal. Overall, it’s a great product to use before makeup, especially for special occasions or when reapplying lipstick may not be convenient. The color lasts longer and looks a lot more even. A win for me.
