I’m back with another Purito review (of course). I’ve been a fan of the brand since its infancy, and now the lineup is expanding and becoming more and more exciting. All of their products work so well for my combination skin (with the exception of their vitamin C serum, which I’m allergic to).
One of the latest Purito developments is Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack - a night mask that supports a healthy skin barrier. I’ve followed the whole product creation process on Purito’s social media - the brand treated this as a crowd-sourcing project of sorts. They regularly posted polls and questionnaires asking the customers what kind of product they want to see next from Purito - everything from product type (mask/cream/etc) to its characteristics (ingredients/scent/texture). Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack incorporates the desires of the majority. What a fun and useful idea! The mask is sold on* eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle (Use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings) .
The mask contains one of my favorite ingredients - centella asiatica (and its derivatives). Centella is known for its soothing and healing properties and is a common component of Korean skincare aimed at sensitive and acne prone skin. Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Pack also features squalane - a compound naturally present in our skin sebum at birth, but completely depleted by the time we reach our 20s (source).
A healthy skin barrier is very important - it keeps the “good stuff” in and the “bad stuff” out. The ingredients list (see the end of the review) supports this function.
How to use:
Apply at the end of your evening routine
I use this right after serum, instead of emulsion and cream.
Purito is a vegan and cruelty free company, and this product is no exception.
My impressions:
Another Purito win! The texture is light, yet the mask is nourishing. There’s not even a hint of stickiness or an oily shine. I have combination skin, and some days I wake up with an oily face, while other mornings it’s dry and tight. Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack normalizes the sebum production and makes my skin velvety-soft and balanced. It’s also great for soothing redness, both from breakouts and from occasional self extractions. I know we shouldn’t pick on our blemishes, but sometimes I just can’t help it. I’m not perfect.
The brand says that people with very dry skin can apply 2 or even 3 layers of the mask. One is enough for me.
This product was a win, but if you want to see some fails, check out this video.
