PURITO Dermide Balancing Barrier Balm was an especially welcomed addition to my skincare routine because I didn’t have any robust moisturizers in my rotation at the time (only gel creams). PURITO Dermide Balancing Barrier Balm is vegan and cruelty free. It contains 10,000 ppm ceramide to support a healthy skin barrier and promises to balance out oil and water levels. The formula is made without silicone, fragrance and essential oils (a full list of ingredients is available at the end of the review).

The balm has a thick, luxurious texture and no scent. For me, this is an evening product (I have combination skin), but someone with very dry skin could use it in the mornings as well. Despite being thicker than most creams, PURITO Balancing Balm melts into my skin beautifully and doesn’t feel sticky or unpleasant. I do not notice a scent. The product is fragrance free, but that isn’t the same as scent free. However, in the case of this balm there’s no smell.
My impressions
I love this so much. As already mentioned, I have combination skin with some dry and some oily areas. I’m also using a prescription vitamin A product that can cause dryness and peeling. PURITO Dermide Balancing Barrier Balm is an absolutely perfect moisturizer to pamper my skin. It is amazing after a day at the pool (hello, chlorine irritation), exfoliating, and any time extra nourishment is needed. I wish I had it in the winter because my skin always takes a beating in the cold wind. I apply this moisturizer all over the face, including around the eyes, with no issues.
For years, I associated balms with greasy, oily, ointment-type textures, but PURITO is different. It makes my skin soft, smooth, and flake-free, but still feels nice to the touch. It takes about a pea-sized amount to cover my face and about as much for the neck and chest. I do my evening skincare routine a couple of hours before actually going to bed, so I don’t like having a sticky face while I enjoy the rest of my night. That’s not an issue with PURITO - I can still do all I need to do, including write my blog articles without my glasses sliding off my greasy face. It’s absolutely perfect for my combination skin, even though it’s marketed more toward dry skin types. And I love that no fragrance or EOs are included. I am personally not sensitive to those, but a lot of people are, so it’s great to have skincare that can be enjoyed by a wide variety of people.
I like the packaging design - PURITO has come a long way in the presentation of their products in the last 6 years, but the contents have always been top quality. The tube is 100% post-consumer recycled material (PCR). My only wish is for the tube to be bigger, but that’s my desire for almost any product I enjoy. I never want to run out.
