Purito All Care Recovery Cica-Aid Patches Review

I probably shouldn’t complain about my skin - it generally behaves well. However, nobody is perfect, and I get occasional breakouts - whiteheads, painful hormonal zits, etc. For those occasions, I like to have pimple patches on hand. My current ones are Purito All Care Recovery Cica-Aid patches. They are sold on* Amazon, YesStyle (use the code KBHOBBIT for an extra discount), Stylevana, Jolse, and eBay.

In addition to the beloved patch ingredient hydrocolloid, these contain centella asiatica derivatives to speed up healing. Purito acne patches work on pimples that are just forming all the way to the ones you may have extracted (against all the advice of dermatologists and estheticians. I’m guilty of extractions too).

The edges of the patches are slightly thinner than the center to make them less visible when worn. The pack comes with two sizes - 10mm and 12mm.

How to use:

  • Apply to dry, clean skin with clean hands

  • Gently press down for 5 seconds

  • Leave on for 5-8 hours (never longer than 12)

  • Once the patch has turned faint white color, remove it

The clear plastic backing is made in a way that allows for patch application without the adhesive side coming into contact with the hands. The patches are waterproof, but I never had a reason to test their durability in water. I remove mine before cleansing the face.

Purito patches are not meant for blackheads or fungal acne.

My impressions

These are excellent. I love that the pack comes with so many - 51 - because sometimes zits bring friends, and I need multiple patches per application.

Purito All Care Recovery Cica-Aid patches are hard to notice but not totally invisible. It doesn’t bother me - you’d definitely have to look for them to see them.

The biggest benefit of this product for me is preventing picking (or further picking if the pimple has already been popped). I’m the worst about that kind of thing - it is incredibly difficult for me to leave a zit alone once I notice it. No cream, gel, or traditional spot treatment can keep my hands off the area. But the patches do a great job.

I’ve used the patches on my face and body (if you are like me, you know that sometimes painful zits happen on the back and other areas). They work wonderfully in reducing pain and swelling. The pimples are flatter and usually go away without ever “coming to a head”. For the whiteheads or things I managed to squeeze, the patches reduce redness and prevent further infection. I’ve noticed fewer dark spots / post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when using these. It could be partially due to the fact that less picking is happening. Whatever the reason, I’ll take it.
