I love trying new things, that’s how I ended up with a product review blog. But sometimes it’s nice to revisit old favorites and see if anything changed with the formula or my perception of it. I had Petitfee Super Seed Lip Oil, available on Jolse, back in 2018 and absolutely loved it. After a recent disappointing experience with MACQUEEN Volume Fix Essential Lip Oil, I needed something good in my life and got the Petitfee one again.
Petitfee Super Seed Lip Oil features 11 plant oils plus honey and propolis extracts to nourish and soothe the skin.The amber hue is the result of the natural ingredients and not added coloring (it looks colorless on the lips).
How to use
Apply to lips as needed
The texture is beautiful - nourishing and silky but not greasy. I notice a hint of honey scent that I love. The applicator is a flexible plastic scoop. I prefer “fuzzy” doe-foot ones, but if someone wants to apply this oil over lipstick, it’s probably nice to be able to wipe the plastic applicator clean afterwards, before placing it back in the bottle.
My impressions
This is as awesome as it was in 2018 - maybe even more so. Looking at my old pictures, the 2018 version did have a fuzzy applicator, which I prefer, but the new one isnt’ a deal breaker.
My favorite way to apply Petitfee Super Seed Lip Oil is close to bedtime as the very last step of my evening skincare routine. It makes me feel extra special and cared for, and it looks delightfully glossy on the lips but doesn’t feel sticky. I think it softens lips better than sleeping masks, although both can be a part of a lip care routine. If mine are superbly dry, I start with the oil, let it absorb for a while, and then apply a sleeping mask over the top.
One could use the oil during the day as well, but I stick to SPF lip balms and don’t want to interfere with their protective functions by adding an oil. Whichever way you use it, it’s worth considering.
