Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule Review

This is a sponsored post with affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule (or ampoule serum) promises to hydrate the skin, providing glow and moisture. The ampoule also targets sagging, fine lines (including smile lines and crow’s feet), and loss of elasticity. It is made with 62.1% fermented grape fruit extract plus hyaluronic acid and adenosine. A full list of ingredients is provided at the end of the review. The ampoule is available on Papa Recipe’s official Amazon storefront, plus save 15% until April 16th with code 15noblerot.

The ampoule has two distinct layers that separate as it sits - a golden water ampoule layer and a milky oil layer.

How to use

  • Gently shake to combine the layers

  • Apply after cleansing and toning

  • Pat in

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

Let’s talk about the product name - why “noble rot”? It’s not the most attractive title, at least not to an English speaker. Noble rot, or botrytis cinerea, is a type of fungus that grows on grapes (and other fruit) and is commonly utilized in wine making. More than half of the Papa Recipe ampoule formula is Botrytis Cinerea/Grape Fruit Ferment Extract, and now the name makes sense.

The ampoule comes in a plastic twist-top bottle with an automatic dispenser. Twisting the lid to open the container pops up the button and fills the dropper. But sometimes I get a second dropper full just because I love the feeling of this ampoule so much.

Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule texture

The texture is wonderful (more on that later) - a little thicker than water with a definite “slippery”/slightly oily feel, not to be confused with being greasy or heavy. I notice a little bit of a scent but it’s not overpowering and doesn’t last; I happen to enjoy it.

My impressions

I don’t like writing sensationalist reviews about miracle products that sound more like dishonest ads, but this ampoule seriously wowed me. It’s amazing. The texture is nothing short of magical. As someone with combination skin, reading about an “oil layer” made me a little hesitant, but it doesn’t feel oily or greasy at all. Once shaken, the water and oil combine to a cohesive product that is an absolute joy to apply.

I’ve been introducing my skin to adapalene (a topical retinoid), which can be a drying and irritating proces, and Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule is exactly what I needed. It’s like a loving, nourishing hug for the face. I reach for it all the time, pretty much every night, because it’s that amazing and doesn’t irritate my face even if my barrier isn’t in the best shape. I’ve also been taking long walks with my toddler in our windy Midwest weather, and it’s great to have a lovely product like this to give the windburnt skin much needed love and restoration.

The benefits are pretty immediate - the dry, irritated parts of my face start to feel better and are softer to the touch. I like to use this at night and finish my routine with a nice moisturizer for the best nourishing effect. After applying the ampoule for two weeks, my fine lines are indeed less noticeable, as promised. I don’t have too many of those (or that’s what I tell myself), but my biggest problem areas on the forehead and nasolabial folds are looking softer and less prominent.

Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule and Essence

I cannot comment on the sagging claims, because at 32 that’s not yet a major concern. However, I’m all about prevention (without obsession), so I would like to think this is helping hold off the effects of time and gravity. I’m very happy with the results I do see, and those are enough for me to keep using Papa Recipe Noble Rot Lifting Ampoule. And it makes my skin glow the next morning.

My only wish is for a larger container. I’m not even halfway through the bottle (each use only takes a little bit), but am already dreading the moment when I’m out of this amazing ampoule. I know this is a sponsored review, but trust me - this is THAT amazing. I’m always honest, sponsored or not.
