I rarely review premium skincare. I could never afford things like that before I had a blog, and I don’t gravitate to them now. However, I’m not immune to curiosity and FOMO, so when I saw a member of my Facebook group praise the O HUI first geniture line as a total game changer, I had to try something.

The line has several products - a softener, essence, cream, etc - that feature Beautio EGF/hGH technology to enhance ingredient absorption. I chose the ampoule, because I thought it would be the best product to see if the active ingredients make a difference for my skin.

O HUI The First Geniture Ampoule Oil

O HUI The First Geniture Ampoule Oil is available on Jolse and promises to brighten, improve elasticity, and nourish the skin with rich nutrients.

How to use

  • Apply all over the skin and gently pat in

  • I like using this after cleansing and toning before a very light moisturizer

The marketing materials promise no tackiness or shine, however I do notice a tiny bit of stickiness after use. Sometimes, it’s simply user error - I used to apply too much, especially at first. But even when dispensing only a few drops of the ampoule oil, my skin feels mildly tacky for a little while after. That feeling is always gone by morning and is not a deal breaker for me.

The slip of the ampoule is absolutely perfect for massage with either hands or tools such as gua sha. It smells heavenly, like expensive perfume - exquisite but not overwhelming. The scent is gone a few minutes after application.

My impressions

This is the embodiment of luxury. Everything from the packaging to the scent to the application experience. Simply wow. I can see why people pay a premium for products like the O HUI The First Geniture Ampoule Oil when it’s in their budget.

I have combination skin with an oily-ish t-zone and dry/normal everything else. Regular use of tretinoin plus aging are definitely making my skin less oily than it used to be. O HUI ampoule oil is one of the best parts of my evening routine - I use it at least 4 times a week paired with gua sha massage.

By morning, my skin is absolutely GLOWING and none of that initial tacky feeling remains. I’m noticing less dryness. The ampoule oil has been in my routine for over a month now, so as an experiment I decided to pause it for a couple of days and see what happens. I had dryness almost right away, especially on the chin / around the mouth. And my skin isn’t as glowy and bouncy.

I will continue using this bottle and will be devastated when it’s out. I think it’s worth a splurge, but know that you may fall in love and will feel the need to keep buying it.
