Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask Review

Can pores ever be too small or too clean? There’s no limit to perfection.

I have combination skin with an oily t-zone without any major pore concerns (but I attribute that to a diligent and carefully chosen skincare routine). No genetic magic here. I did a bit of retail therapy toward the end of my second pregnancy (I was so sick of being pregnant and was trying to distract myself). One of the items I purchased was Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask. And I’m so glad I did!

The mask promised clean pores and sebum control. It’s available on eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle

Spoiler alert - the mask is amazing. The ecstasy starts with the aroma - the mask is part of a flower series and is made with the Eoseongcho flower. I have never encountered such an exotic bloom in real life, so I am not sure what the real ones smell like, but the product has a magnificent aroma - light, floral, and not at all “fake”.

The green clay (kaolin and bentonite) is creamy to the touch and such a pleasure to apply. Don’t be alarmed by the small hard particles in the mask - those are very finely ground walnut pieces (likely the shells) for light exfoliation. There aren’t many of them and I haven’t experienced any skin trauma or irritation. I suggest washing the mask off gently, without rubbing, to avoid unneeded friction. The Eoseongcho leaves control sebum production, decongest the pores and kill breakout-causing bacteria. Mamonde Pore Clean Clay Mask is made without mineral oils, artificial colors and animal products.

How to use:

  • Apply to clean skin after toner

  • Wash off with warm water after 10-15 minutes

  • I like to finish off the process with a sheet mask, if I have time.

My impressions:

This was one of my favorite masks. “Was”, because I ran out of it last week. My poor post-baby neglected pores were quite happy with it. Right after application, the skin becomes velvety soft, matte (without dryness) and smooth. The pores look smaller and less congested. I won’t get too verbose here, I think I covered the main points. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
