Koelf Ruby & Bulgarian Rose Eye Patch Review

This post contains affiliate links. Product provided by Jolse.

Eyepatches are such fun little things - they can visibly plump the skin and de-puff the delicate eye area in just a few minutes, especially if stored in the fridge. I usually have some kind of eye patch on hand and use them under the eyes, on the forehead, and over the nasolabial folds to try and fight off the ticking time clock of aging.

My current jar is Koelf Ruby & Bulgarian Rose Eye Patch, available on Jolse. Made with Bulgarian rose, they promise to moisturize and brighten the eye area. The jar has 60 pieces, enough for 30 applications if using only for the eyes. If you are interested in a breakdown of my favorite eye products, including other patches, check out this post (must be a member of our private Facebook group to view).

How to use:

  • Apply to clean skin after toner

  • Leave on for 10-15 minutes - the patches will adhere better and better as they warm up on the skin

  • Remove and discard, continue with the rest of your routine

I like to use these while the rest of my face is benefitting from some sort of an active ingredient. For example, I apply a BHA toner to my face, and while it’s working, I use the patches. In the mornings, I may use vitamin C on the rest of the face, and the patches under the eyes. Although I’m rarely awake enough in the mornings to do anything but the absolute necessities, which for me are vitamin C and sunscreen.

In addition to rose water, Koelf patches contain yuja, green tea, and ruby powder. I’m not convinced that the ruby does anything for the skin, but the glittery hydrogel is definitely nice to look at. They smell like roses in the best way - not overwhelming but still noticeable while using.

My impressions

I’m enjoying these patches. The scent reminds me of a little wooden bottle of Bulgarian rose oil my grandma used to keep in her cabinet (she probably still does). The oil was long gone, but the bottle still had the faint, pleasant aroma. I even found a similar looking one on eBay later and bought it for my mom.

I’m seeing a noticeable plumping effect, especially on my forehead lines. If you are someone who wakes up puffy, then consider using Koelf patches in the mornings - store them in the fridge for best results.

These are definitely pretty slippery, so try to lie down when using them. After about 5 minutes, they start to adhere a lot better and you may be able to move around (I prefer to keep relaxing).
