Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream promises even, natural coverage with a silky glow. It’s marketed as hypoallergenic (unregulated advertising term) and suitable for all skin types. The cream is sold on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), and Wishtrend (code LUCY15).

It is vegan and cruelty free.

How to use

  • Apply at the end of your skincare routine

The cream is very easy to spread and melts effortlessly into the skin. My preferred method is to use a moistened beauty blender, but fingers work fine as well. I apply starting in the middle of the face, gently blending outward. The coverage is light to medium, camouflaging small imperfections and freckles without looking like an impenetrable mask.

One slightly preachy note… This cream has SPF40 PA++ rating, but I caution anyone against using makeup as their only means of sun protection. To get the advertised level of SPF, one would need to apply approximately ½ teaspoon to the face, neck, ears, and the area around the eyes. Most of us do not use this much foundation. My non-professional advice is to start with a good layer of regular SPF, let that dry, and then do makeup. Any SPF from the bb cream will be an additional benefit and might cover some skip spots.

My impressions

I only wear “real makeup” on filming days and very rare special occasions, so it took me a bit of time to try Klairs blemish cream enough for a review.

I really like it! It’s a shame that Klairs only sells the cream in one shade. It matches my fair skin, but I always advocate for inclusive ranges. I hope I live to see the day when that’s not an issue at all, when all makeup / foundation products are made in a wide range of shades by default, without deep tones being an afterthought. We all come in different colors, and so should makeup.

The finish is dewy but not oily. Still, I prefer a more matte look, so I set everything with a thin layer of translucent powder. Even 7-8 hours later, I don’t need any touch ups - everything looks the way it did right after application.

My favorite feature of the Klairs Supple Blemish Cream is that it makes my skin look better than it really is but still looking like my skin. It doesn’t totally obliterate every imperfection, but gives an overall appearance of even, radiant complexion. It also doesn’t turn into an oil slick on my t-zone, even when I use it without a primer.

I’ll happily finish this tube and wouldn’t mind getting it again after that.
