Klairs Fundamental Watery Oil Drop Review

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

I recently discovered an uncharted territory in my Korean beauty journey - facial oils! I’ve always mistakenly assumed that oils are, well, oily, and won’t be suitable for combination skin like mine. I was wrong. Turns out, all oils have different characteristics and purposes.

Today I offer you a new release from #Klairs - Klairs Fundamental Watery Oil Drop. I’ve been using it for about two weeks. That’s the hard part about new releases - you want to test them thoroughly, but waiting too long means the product is no longer “new” in the market. And people get excited about new things and want to hear something about them before purchasing. Who said being a beauty blogger is easy? The oil is available on* Wishtrend, eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings).

What this oil can do:

  • Alleviate dryness, redness, and irritation

  • Hydrate and moisturize

  • Work as an anti-aging product by preventing water loss

Even though it’s an oil by name, the product is water based and has a very light texture. It’s not greasy and doesn’t cause an oily sheen on the skin.

Gorgeous glass packaging

Who might benefit from the oil:

  • People with dehydrated skin (oily skin can be dehydrated)

  • Those who want to incorporate an oil without an “oily” feeling

Klais Fundamental Watery Oil Drop contains many beneficial ingredients such as green tea, fermented components (which penetrate the skin better than non fermented ones), ceramides (to support a healthy skin barrier), peptides, rice and kelp extracts, and hyaluronic acid (which attracts environmental moisture to the skin).

How to use:

  1. Apply a few drops to the face and neck after toner, massaging lightly

  2. Can be used before, after, or instead of serum

My impressions:

Klairs, once again, released a wonderful, interesting, and effective product. The oil is light, watery, and has no scent. My combination skin drinks it right up! I like to apply it after toner onto moist skin (hyaluronic acid works well on damp skin), and then seal it in with #cream. I typically use this at night. Once the weather gets cold and dry in the Fall and Winter months, I will be using it in the mornings as well. That’s a great thing about this product - it will work in any season. And the large bottle should last me for months.

Clear, watery, no scent

I see no stickiness or oiliness after application. We are in the midst of summer heat; my poor skin is getting dry and irritated both from the sun and from the blasting air conditioning. Klairs Fundamental Watery Oil Drop has a wonderfully calming and hydrating effect. And, of course, from the purely aesthetic perspective, I adore the packaging. Glass jars and bottles make me so happy.
