Sunscreen is the most important step of any skincare routine, both for vanity and health reasons. I’m constantly harping on my entire family to use sunscreen before they leave the house, no matter the time of year or weather. Most of them are pretty well trained now to always wear SPF and to pack on trips.
Because we go through so much sunscreen, we try new ones regularly. My kids aren’t babies anymore and don’t necessarily require a kid specific formula, but sometimes fun packaging is a selling point. I decided to try Kao Biore UV Kids Pure Milk Sunscreen SPF50 PA+++. Mine came from YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), but today I can only find it on Stylevana (discount code INF10KBH).
How to use
Shake well
Apply to exposed area, layering more product to achieve full skin coverage
Re-apply after sweating / wiping off sweat
A little foreshadowing for - my own version of “how to use” would have one step - throw it in the trash…
My impressions
It takes a lot for me to not finish sunscreen. Even some of the worst formulas can be used up on the body, tops of the feet, etc. Unfortunately, Kao Biore UV Kids Pure Milk was so bad that some of it ended up in the garbage. My partner couldn’t even stand it while mowing the lawn, and he’s typically not picky about SPF. This product is beyond greasy - it’s oily! It leaves a white cast and a nasty, sticky finish. A great way to ensure your kids hate SPF is to have this product be their first experience. Gross! The only thing I liked is the packaging - the bottle is the right size and shape to easily fit into purses, diaper bags and so on. The flip top lid and liquid texture work well together. Too bad the contents are unpleasant trash.
