Every once in a while, I stumble across a product that makes me want to try everything else from that line. Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser was one of those things - I had to get my hands on the other yam root items!
Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream is a moisturizer with botanical phyto mucin and 57% Andong yam root extract. It promises to protect, nourish, and support the skin barrier with vegan ceramides. It's available on Jolse.

The milk cream has a soft, rich texture yet spreads easily. My combination skin absorbs it pretty quickly. I notice a bit of residual stickiness but nothing major - the feeling is gone by morning (I only use this at night). I do not notice a scent.
My impressions
This is a lovely moisturizer that could easily pass for a luxurious product if the brand packaged it slightly differently. It would fit right in with a fancy glass jar and a higher price tag. But I also appreciate the simple, minimalistic aesthetic of the existing tube.
I reach for this pretty often, and it works by itself or as the last step before prescription tretinoin. I also use Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream around my eyes with no issues. This is a perfect midweight moisturizer - not too creamy / balmy but also not so light that I can’t feel it. Someone with dry skin might enjoy it for daytime, but for my combo skin it’s a great evening option.
It’s not my first yam mucin product, and so far everything I’ve tried has been great, both from Isntree and Vegreen. I have no issues using snail mucin, but some are allergic or have other hesitations. I love that a totally vegan option with similar benefits exists.
