I purchased Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing 5.5 Cleanser for a few simple reasons: I was out of foaming cleansers, it had a good price point, and I typically like #Innisfree products. I didn’t realize it was such a popular item until reviews started to pop up everywhere. It’s sold on eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle.
The purpose of any foaming cleanser is to remove impurities (if used in the morning) or to wash off the remaining cleansing oil (if used in the evening). The Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing Cleanser has a gentle pH of 5.5, which shouldn’t irritate the skin or dry it out.
Star ingredients:
Blueberry extract - full of vitamins A, C, and E, this extract supports healthy cell turnover. Also contains resveratrol to help with acne and premature aging.
Trehalose - a plant sugar with antioxidant properties that is used as a moisturizer in cosmetics.
Glycerin - a wonderful humectant that improves skin elasticity and makes it soft and smooth.
Allantoin - a soothing ingredient that protects the skin.
Based on the impressive ingredients and an affordable price point, I can see why this foaming cleanser quickly became so popular.
How to use:
This is a second step cleanser, so first use a #cleansingoil or #cleansingbalm (if using at night)
Then, squeeze a small amount of Innisfree Blueberry cleanser into hands, add water, and work into a lather (use this as the first step if you are cleansing in the morning)
Gently massage the face and neck in circular motion
Wash off with warm water and continue with your routine
My impressions:
I want any foaming cleanser to do two things - effectively remove the cleansing oil and makeup residue and not dry out the skin. The Innisfree Blueberry Rebalancing 5.5 Cleanser does both of those things very well. It creates a gentle foam that’s not very thick but works wonderfully. Strictly speaking, the foam isn’t “fragrance free” due to the inclusion of lavender and orange peel oils in the ingredients, but I do not detect a scent during use. I do not typically use a foaming cleanser in the morning, but this would be a suitable one if you like to wash your face in the AM (you can watch a video of what I do here). I just finished my bottle last night. It has lasted me several months of regular use, so the product is a good value buy. I think it would work for just about any skin type and is worth a try.
