When I first got into kbeauty several years ago, I was all about sheet masks. The novelty of the product (even though it’s been around in Korea for a long time) lured me in. Now that I’m a more seasoned skincare user, I appreciate a great wash off mask even more than a sheet mask. There’s room in my routine for both, but wash off masks took the stage for me in 2020.
I’m From Rice Mask is an exfoliating product made with rice bran and rice powder. It promises to remove dead skin cells and impurities, restoring the skin’s natural glow and healthy complexion. It may also help tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pores. It came to me for free from Wishtrend, but is available for purchase on* Wishtrend, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for an extra discount), Amazon, and eBay.
How to use:
Apply to the face after cleansing
Gently massage in a spiraling motion from chin to forehead
Leave on for 10 minutes, rinse
Use 2-3 times a week, avoiding sensitive eye areas.
I usually apply it, wait for 10 minutes (or however long the youtube video I happen to be watching while taking a bath takes), then do the massage, and then rinse.
I’m From Rice Mask is cruelty free and made without artificial colors.
My impressions
This is such a unique treatment. It’s both nourishing and exfoliating - a rare combination in my experience. There are larger pieces of what I assume is rice bran that will make your tub or sink look interesting after washing off the mask (my tub usually looks like I husked grains in it).
I love what I’m From Rice Mask does for my skin. The tone looks more even, the skin glows, and everything feels so smooth. I think I would have preferred to have smaller pieces of the rice bran in the mask, or maybe even no pieces at all and just a fine powder. The base of the product (the white creamy part) is excellent and could be a product in its own right.
I haven’t had anything quite like this in my routine. Leave it to I’m From to invent a great mask - they are pros at that. Overall, I really enjoy using it and will definitely continue.
