I’m late to the game of appreciating the I’m From Rice Toner (review here), but I was one of the first people to get my hands on the rest of the I’m From Rice line - before it was even released to the general public! It arrived in a surprise box from the brand - watch the unboxing here (it was one of the best, most beautifully packaged things I have ever received).
Now I’m ready to share my thoughts on the I’m From Rice Cream. It’s sold on* Wishtrend, YesStyle (use my reward code KBHOBBIT for an extra discount), Amazon, and eBay.
The star ingredient of this cream is rice bran extract. Rich in vitamins B, E, and minerals, it promises to support and restore a healthy skin barrier, improve skin tone, and control excess sebum. That last part about sebum makes the product sound like it’s meant for combination or oily skin, but to me it’s more suitable for dry skin conditions (more on that later).
I’m From Rice Cream is cruelty free, vegan friendly, and made without artificial colors or fragrances.
How to use:
Apply at the end of your skincare routine (before SPF, if using in the morning)
Can be used in the morning or evening
My impressions
I have combination skin with some oily and some dry areas. Everything gets worse in the winter (thanks, cold air and dry indoor heat). I like to use rich, nourishing moisturisers at night to lock in as much hydration as possible.
While I don’t mind slightly sticky products in my evening routine, I’m From Rice Cream is too heavy for my combination skin. The tacky/sticky feeling doesn’t go away even in 1-2 hours (I often stay awake for a while after doing my evening routine). My neck soaks it right up, but not so much my face. Someone with normal/dry skin will likely appreciate this a lot more.
I like the texture, don’t detect much of a scent, and in general this would have been perfect if my skin were able to absorb it better. That’s ok, we are all different, and it’s probably a fantastic product for some people.
