I’m From makes some of my favorite skincare products, especially within their mugwort line. It’s been a while since that line had a new release, so I had to get my hands on the cleanser when it came out. I’m From Mugwort Gel Cleanser, available on Wishtrend (code LUCY15), Amazon, and YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT) promises to rid the skin of impurities while keeping it soothed and hydrated. The star player is 60% mugwort extract from Ganghwa Hwado Village.
How to use
Mix with a bit of water in your hands to create a lather
Gently massage over the face and neck

This product can be used in the morning or at night (or both). I only wash my face at night, starting with a cleansing oil, followed by a foaming cleanser such as this one. The gel is thick and green in color with a pronounced scent. It foams easily into sufficient bubbles and rinses without noticeable residue.
My impressions
The only thing I don’t like about this cleanser is the smell. I’ve had other I’m From mugwort products (the wash off mask and the essence) - those have an earthy, herbal scent that doesn’t bother me. The gel cleanser, however, has an added note of something much stronger that reminds me of pines, Christmas, and things advertised as being “for men”. It’s a strong scent but not long lasting, and I’m willing to look past it, because in all other ways this product is great.
I definitely recommend creating a lather in your hands first, because the gel is thick and will likely not distribute evenly over the face if you apply it directly to the skin. It leaves my combination skin clean without being dry or tight. I also think it helps reduce breakout-related redness, but of course I always follow up with leave on products as well. Overall, a lovely product that would have been a holy grail if not for the aroma. But again, it’s not a deal breaker and I will continue using my bottle.
