My love for the I’m From Ginseng line started with the wash off mask (review here). After that, I decided to try their eye cream (review here). And then it seemed logical to get the serum too. I’m glad I did.
I’m From Ginseng Serum is made with Red Ginseng and Panax Ginseng Seed Oil to nourish the skin. It promises to help with elasticity and prevent sagging. How to use:
Apply after cleansing and toning
Spread a few drops over the face and neck
Follow with moisturizer
I also like to layer watery essences between the toner and serum steps.
The glass dropper bottle contains a beautiful amber-colored liquid that’s thicker than water but still easy to use and spread. It’s not sticky or heavy, even on my combination skin. I don’t notice much of a smell. I’ve been using this in the evening, but it is suitable for mornings, especially for people with dry skin.
My impressions
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-to-normal everything else. I find that slowly but surely everything is getting a little more dry as I age, so I stepped up my nourishing game, especially in the Fall and Winter. This ginseng serum added much needed love and moisture to my skincare routine.
I started using it while the weather was still cold, but it’s working well even now in early summer. I cannot say anything about elasticity as that’s a very difficult thing to assess, at least to me. I see this as a nice preventative measure - if I can avoid at least some of the sagging that comes with time and gravity, then it’s a win for me. What I do know is that my skin looks plumper and more nourished, especially the dry areas.
I love the experience of using I’m From Ginseng serum - everything from the glass bottle to the lovely color and texture makes me feel great. Someone with dry and / or mature skin may enjoy this even more, but it was a win for me as well - I’m almost 32, for the record.
Now I can confidently say that the entire I’m From Ginseng line is lovely.
