A few months ago, I’m From released several lines of body products with interesting sounding scents. I already reviewed the Nyeok line, and today’s article is about the Geuneul one. I wanted to open these at different times to make sure I could clearly separate my impressions, hence the lag in reviews.
I’ve been using I’m From Geuneul Body Wash and Body Lotion, both available on Wisthrend (discount code LUCY15). The brand describes the aroma as “Yuja, Basil, and Cedarwood scent offer light yet calm citrus woody shade that gives you a peaceful mind”.
How to use
Lather up with the body wash to get clean
Follow with the lotion for soft, nourished skin
My impressions
While this wasn’t meant to be a comparison between the Geuneul and Nyeok lines, I can’t help but think about which one I like more. Nyeok’s scent is more to my liking, however it’s also very strong and lingers on fabrics for close to 24 hours. Geuneul is a more reserved, light fragrance that doesn’t linger for more than half an hour. However, I don’t like the smell as much. The brand lists yuja, basil, and cedarwood as the scent notes, but I definitely get a whiff of licorice. I cannot stand the smell or the taste of licorice, so it’s an automatic no for me. I don’t really notice any citrus notes (sadly). To make matters worse, my oldest, very vocal child doesn’t like the smell either, and she LOUDLY complains about it. Sigh.
I plan on using the body wash, because it’s nice and gentle and I cannot smell it once I rinse it off. As far as the lotion, it’s going to my mom - away from my house and my opinionated family. To be clear, my only gripe is with the scent. The actual cleansing and moisturizing this line provides are great. Aside from the aroma, the other notable difference between Nyeok and Geuneul lotion is that the latter feels lighter and less rich - perhaps a better option for morning bodycare.
I’ve talked about the packaging, which is identical for both lines, in my Nyeok review. In short, I love the aesthetics of glass but hate it when it comes to sharing bathing spaces with small, curious but clumsy humans. I don’t use the body wash as often as I’d like, because I have to keep it out of reach under the sink, and I don’t always remember to pluck it out before showering. If you live alone or if your small humans are all grown, then that’s probably not an issue.
I hope I’m From continues to expand their body care line, because so many kbeauty fans like myself own dozens of facial products and maybe 1-2 body ones.
