I’m From Fig Scrub Mask Review

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

I’m From is one of my favorite brands. I love everything from the chic (and often glass) packaging to the quality ingredients lists. After falling head over heels for the new I’m From Fig Cleansing Balm (review here), I had to have the rest of that line!

I’m From developed a proprietary way of processing figs and created a whole line of products around that concept. Instead of using water to extract beneficial fig components, I’m From uses oil in what they call an Oil Macerating Extraction Method.

I’m From Fig Scrub Mask was gifted to me by the brand and is available on* Wishtrend, eBay, YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings), and Amazon.

Exfoliation is a crucial step in a Korean beauty routine (and any skincare routine, really). Anything from a dull complexion to issues with product pilling can be attributed to improper exfoliation. This fig mask contains 1.2% fig powder and black sugar. It promises to gently remove dead skin cells and other debris by dissolving and then scrubbing them away.

How to use:

  • Apply after cleansing

  • Leave on for 10-15 minutes

  • Gently massage and rinse off

I recommend using this once or twice a week, depending on your skin type and condition.

My impressions:

I approach any kind of physical exfoliation with caution (nobody wants a repeat of the St. Ives horror of the early 2000s). This mask quickly became a #musthave for me. Please be sure you follow directions, as that is key for a gentle experience. Leaving the mask on for the recommended time allows all of its wonderful components to work their magic.

The sugar pieces are very small and not sharp. They exfoliate without causing irritation or trauma. I love the whole process (and the smooth result). My skin is combination and very fair. It tends to get red easily, but I have no redness after using I’m From Fig Scrub Mask. It truly is gentle.

Since this is a new product, I haven’t owned it for very long. However, I’ve used it multiple times with great results and without any ill effects. That’s the beauty of exfoliation - typically, one can tell if it worked or didn’t right away. And I always want to tell my readers about new and exciting products as quickly as I can.
