So far, 2025 has been a year of trying and reviewing lots of makeup and I’m having so much fun! I spent years being too intimated (and too lazy) to experiment with decorative cosmetics, but that’s no longer the case. I’m discovering real joy in treating my face like canvas - ready for the next artistic experiment.
YesStyle often offers free products for review (if interested in participating, sign up to be a YesStyle influencer using my link). When I saw HOLIKA HOLIKA Shell Glow Highlighter up for grabs, I figured it would be a good one to try. It’s available on Amazon and YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT).
The highlighter comes in two variations - mine is 02 Pearly Briller. Each pack has two colors that can be used separately or together. 01 Aurora Nacre is white pearl and lavender, while 02 is champagne and coral (to me it looks more peach than coral).
How to use
Use a brush and apply to desired areas
The packaging is super cute and highly portable. I use a medium sized highlighter brush, which makes it somewhat difficult to separate the colors. If that is your intention, I would opt for a smaller brush. I have been mixing both colors at the same time.
My impressions
I really like the formula and the presentation - the highlighter stays where I put it, is easy to apply and blend, and is highly portable due to the shape and size of the compact. My only issue is the color; I think I need to try the 01 Aurora Nacre, because 02 Pearly Briller is too warm for my taste. I want to look like a cool toned shimmery mermaid at all times, and 01 would probably be better for that. Still, it’s a nice highlighter and can even be used as an eyeshadow if needed. The price being around $15 is also great.
