Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara Review

I start nearly every makeup review by saying I don’t wear much makeup. And that’s true except for mascara. I love mascara, and usually put it on before leaving the house (at least in the times when we could still get close enough to others to see their eyelashes).

The one thing I dislike about mascara wearing is removing it at the end of the day. And while I love double cleansing my face, I dread the eye part. Sometimes even with best efforts, I get racoon / panda eyes afterwards and need to go back in with more remover. Sigh. The solution? Tubing mascaras! They are the answer to my prayers.

I’ve had Missha (review here), Tony Moly (review here), and now Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara - available on* Jolse. I chose Heimish based on repeated recommendations from people in my private Facebook group.

Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara forms tubes around the lashes, encasing them in the formula. Once dry (which doesn’t take any longer than regular mascara), it doesn’t smudge, flake, or otherwise misbehave. The best part? Removal! Wet with water and gently slide the tubes off the lashes. No tugging, no damage to the lashes, and no makeup remover required. It’s awesome.

How to use:

  • Curl lashes, if desired

  • Apply in zig zag motions to lashes

How to remove:

  • Wet the eyes with water

  • Gently slide off the mascara "tubes"

My impressions

I am so pleased with this Heimish mascara. I can see why many people were recommending it to me. For most of 2020, I was using waterproof mascaras (some were PR, some were an unfortunate ordering mistake when I didn’t read the description closely enough). And while they looked great, the removal really bothered me every time. Now I’m back to wearing mascara with joy.

This doesn’t feel heavy and doesn’t irritate my eyes. The look is dramatic enough for me with just one coat, but I think you could apply a second coat if desired. Heimish mascara doesn’t smudge, imprint on my hooded eye, or flake. It holds up to my workouts and to my toddler (who loves to give high fives, and sometimes he high fives my face…). The price is another thing to be happy about. Even though I got this one for free, I will likely repurchase, and I like that it’s so affordable.

Have you tried a tubing mascara? What is your favorite brand?
