I love bathing and washing my face - it’s the first step to ending the day and finally relaxing. The chores are either done or abandoned, and I can pretend like my time is my own, even if it’s only an hour. I’ve had quite a few wonderful foaming cleansers lately (a step that’s typically not super exciting), and Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture 5.5 Soft Cleansing Gel is on that list.
This is a mildly acidic, colorless and unscented foaming gel with black rice extract to soothe sensitive skin. It promises to wash away impurities without irritation or dryness. How to use
Use by itself in the morning or after an oil cleanser in the evening
Gently lather up in the palms of the hands, then massage over the face and neck
Rinse
Follow with the rest of your routine
The gel foams quite easily into sufficient foam. It’s not enough to make a Santa beard, but it’s plenty for an effective cleanse. The skin is left soft, smooth, clean but not “squeaky clean”.
My impressions
I love this cleanser! It’s very gentle, effective, and easy to use. I don’t mind fragrance (as long as it smells good and isn’t overpowering), but I love seeing unscented and fragrance free products since they can be used by a wider audience.
I wish the tube were larger (a pump bottle would have been even better). I finished one of these already and am currently on my second one. Compared to other foaming cleansers, the Haruharu one is definitely on the smaller side. The price is also under $10 on some of the sites, which is cheaper than many larger products.
I don’t cleanse my face in the morning, so this works as my second cleanse at night. It’s absolutely lovely - I highly recommend it.
