Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops are advertised as a skincare + makeup hybrid, offering instant glow and long term benefits. The formula features vitamin C rich watermelon, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and moringa seed oil to even out and hydrate the skin. The Dew Drops are available on Glow Recipe’s website, Sephora, and Amazon.
How to use
Apply before moisturizer for a long lasting glow
Apply before makeup to use as a primer
Apply a couple of pumps as the very last step on a no-makeup day for maximum glow
I would classify this product as a serum. It has a pleasant texture - liquid but not too runny. The scent is noticeable and similar to Glow Recipe’s watermelon toner; it dissipates quickly after application.
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. Most of the year, vitamin C + sunscreen is the only morning skincare my face needs. Anything else and the skin feels too greasy / heavy. Because of that, I exclusively used the Dew Drops in the evenings before moisturizer.
My impressions
I’m an anarchist at heart. As a teen, I used to have purple hair, ripped jeans with chains and safety pins on them, and enough piercings to make a colander jealous. Have you noticed how a lot of “nonconformists” end up looking alike? Anyway… The pink, bright, bubbly branding of Glow Recipe really makes me want to hate it. And yet I don’t. Time and time again, I end up liking their products, including the offensively pink packaging.
I really enjoyed the overall experience of the Dew Drops. The glass bottle is lovely, I like the scent, and once topped with moisturizer, there is no stickiness. I have to admit that I didn’t see a lot of results. Part of it is that my skin is already in good shape. Most of the skincare I use maintains the results and hopefully delays some of the signs of aging. It’s rare that a product makes a mind blowing difference for me. I would even caution you against listening to skincare reviewers who find a “life changing holy grail” every other week.
Because the instant glow / makeup aspects of this product are not a selling point for me, I may not be the target audience here. I will also add that I didn’t personally notice any glow beyond what a regular hydrating serum would provide. But then again, I always used Glow Recipe before moisturizer, not after. I’m sure that makes a difference.
Overall, I’m not mad that I purchased this, but I will not be buying it again. My little freckles are living their best life regardless of all the “even out skin tone” claims.
