Etude Power Eyelash Ampoule Review

Who doesn’t want long, healthy, beautiful lashes? Sign me up! There are many eyelash serums on the market, but I’ve never had one (or at least not in the last decade). A few months ago I got Etude Power Eyelash Ampoule, available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT) and Etude US.

a tube of Etude Power Eyelash Ampoule

This is a nutrient dense essence with caffeine that promises fuller looking lashes after four weeks of use. Inside the bottle is a clear gel-like substance with a spongy applicator. The applicator has a little ball on the end which makes spreading the product easy and painless.

How to use:

  • Apply to the lash roots (like eyeliner)

  • Gently brush over the lashes (like mascara)

  • Use twice a day, before or after skincare

  • Can also be used on the eyebrows

The ampoule is oil free and can be used with lash extensions. I do not notice any scent. If there is any, it must be very faint.

My impressions

I’m a little confused by this product. I don’t hate it, but I’m not sure it’s doing much. Lashes are hair, and conditioning them makes sense (just like we condition head hair), but I’m not sure that any topical non-Rx product can make them grow thicker or longer. If the lashes were insufficient due to breaking / dryness, then using something like this ampoule could help the situation. Most eyelash products contain castor oil, which doesn’t make the hair inherently thicker but does coat it, making it appear fuller temporarily. Yet this ampoule is oil-free.

I do not notice a difference in my own lashes. I also have a hard time working this into my routine, because I’m simply not used to having an eyelash serum step (so maybe someone who’s very consistent would benefit more). I’ve made an effort to use it as much as possible in the last couple of months.

On the bright side, there is no irritation (and the brand definitely highlights that in their ads).I’ve read reviews for various lash products and irritation is a common complaint with other brands. So if you want to try a lash serum for yourself, this is a good and probably safe option. As for me, I’ll finish this bottle but won’t be going out of my way to get it again.
