Etude House Look At My Eyes Velvet Review

Skincare is my passion, but I struggle with makeup. On one hand, I love taking the time to apply it, but on the other hand I’m so sleepy and short on time in the mornings that I often leave the house with just SPF and mascara (and hopefully wearing some clothes hehe).

I’ve been trying to find something for my lids that could be applied easily and quickly, without any special brushes or complicated techniques. After trying some shadow sticks (and being disappointed), I think I finally found my perfect solution! Etude House Look At My Eyes Velvet eyeshadows, available on Jolse, are exactly what I needed. These come in 15 colors. I chose BR403 Shooting Stars (the shimmery lighter shade) and BK406 Burnt Toast (the darker shade).

Etude House Look At My Eyes Velvet

Etude House Look At My Eyes Velvet shadows are made with ultra-fine powders and promise rich, buildable color with a butter-like matte texture. I don’t think the matte texture applies to the glitters like the Shooting Stars I have…

How to use

  • Gently apply to the lids with a brush or fingers

My impressions

This is EXACTLY what I needed! I can apply these shadows with my fingers and don’t have to be too precise. The whole process takes under a minute. Sometimes I use both colors, other times just the Shooting Stars. When used alone, Shooting stars stays put the whole day, even on my hooded lids. Burnt Toast tends to crease somewhat, but it’s not a big deal because one gentle sweep with a clean finger smoothes everything back out. Perhaps the reason for creasing is my oily lids or the fact that I don’t use an eye primer - you may have a different experience. For me, it’s not a deal breaker. Even if I don’t fix it, it’s not very noticeable.

Both colors come off easily with a cleansing oil and leave no smudges behind. I could not be happier with these Etude House shadows and am already eyeing the other colors in the collection.
