Cosrx Advanced Snail Hydrogel Eye Patches are made with 20,400 ppm snail secretion filtrate (aka snail mucin) and 2% niacinamide to hydrate, plump, and soothe the delicate eye area. The product is available on Amazon, Stylevana (discount code INF10KBH), Jolse, and iHerb (savings code CWN6107).
How to use
Apply the patch on the areas of concern (under the eyes, forehead, etc)
Remove after 15-20 minutes, massage in the remaining essence
I like to follow with a moisturizer to seal everything in
The jar contains 60 patches in two sizes with slight embossing. There’s a very faint, mild floral scent that I enjoy. I don’t notice it even while the patches are on my face - the only way I discovered it was by basically sticking my nose in the jar.
My impressions
Despite flashy marketing claims, package design variations and scent differences, most hydrogel patches are very similar to each other. I still enjoy them for a refreshing treat, but it’s rare that one of them really stands out. Well, until now. CosRx Advanced Snail Hydrogel Eye Patches are unlike any I’ve tried before and I love them.
The design is wonderful - the bigger parts fit well under the eyes and cover a large area, much larger than any of the other patches I’ve had. I’m not as excited about the small sections, but they work pretty well for nasolabial folds or targeted plumping of forehead lines. I’ve even applied them under the eyes, although the fit isn’t as good as with the larger patches.
At first, the patches slide just a little (not horribly), but once warmed up on the skin, they adhere very well and I can comfortably move without worrying about losing them. I do notice a nice boost of plumping and hydration to the area without any stickiness or oiliness. If you are a morning person, using these in the AM can be nice and de-puffing (especially if stored in the fridge), but I can hardly get myself dressed and slap some sunscreen on. I like to apply these at night, and let them do their thing while I play video games (I end up doing my routine sort of around them), then seal everything in with eye cream or even Cerave healing ointment for a little targeted slugging action. I can’t stand slugging on my whole face, but on just the under eye area it works well. If you aren’t familiar, slugging refers to the practice of sealing in the entire routine with a very occlusive product, often a petroleum-based ointment like Vaseline, in order to prevent moisture loss during the night.
I absolutely love these and will be so sad when they are gone. These came to me as PR inside the YesStyle advent calendar, but I would gladly re-purchase them with my own hard earned cash.
