I won a huge CosRx Best Sellers package in the summer of 2021. Unopened, the products do not expire until 2023-2024, so I’ve been slowly introducing them one by one so as not to overwhelm my skin (and because once you open a skincare item, the expiration clock of 6-12 months starts to tick).
I’m ready to review COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream. It’s available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), official Cosrx Amazon storefront, Stylevana (code INF10KBH), StyleKorean, and Wishtrend (code LUCY15).
As the name implies, the formula contains 92% snail secretion extract plus hyaluronic acid, allantoin and panthenol to support a healthy moisture barrier and plump up the skin. It’s advertised as being great for sensitive skin, people with rosacea, and anyone who needs some soothing and moisture. This cream is cruelty free and fragrance free. COSRX says that no snails are harmed in the process of gathering the mucin.
How to use:
Spread a small amount over the face and neck at the end of your skincare routine
Gently pat in
Follow with SPF in the morning
For me, CosRx Snail All in One Cream is perfectly suitable for the eye area as well. I got the idea from Jude of Fifty Shades of Snail, and it’s been working well. One thing to note is that snail mucin is a tricky ingredient. Some skin loves it (including mine), but some people may experience allergic reactions or breakouts, so patch testing this (and any skincare product) is a good idea.
This cream is white in color and at first glance looks like a gel-cream formula. However, the texture is unlike any other moisturizer I’ve had. Because of the mucin, it’s almost “stretchy” - just look at the pictures to see what I mean. I have no problems applying it, especially in small amounts, but it’s definitely an interesting thing if you’ve never had a product like that. I use this at night and don’t notice any stickiness or oiliness. There is no scent.
My impressions.
This might be the most unique moisturizer I’ve ever tried (aside from maybe this Missha one). I wouldn’t have necessarily picked this texture, but it’s also very interesting and not a deal breaker.
I have combination skin with some oily and some dry areas. CosRx Snail 92 Cream does a great job at moisturizing everything without causing congestion or irritation. I also love being able to use it around the eye area without the need for a separate product (although I do like a dedicated eye cream on occasion as well).
I haven’t tried this as a daytime moisturizer, because I can’t see this texture working well under sunscreen until it’s fully absorbed, and to be honest I don’t have any time to spare in the AM to wait for that. Someone who has more time and / or drier skin might enjoy this for their morning routine as well.
I’m a little bit more than halfway through the jar - it’s lasting me a long time. I don’t use it every single day, but I do reach for it regularly. Sometimes I even put a bit on my body to make the skin very soft and smooth. Overall, definitely a win and a very cool, unusual product.
