Earlier this year, I went through all my various stacks and boxes of skincare and sorted everything by expiration dates. I found this Chrisma Intensive Moisture Cream that was coming up on the “best by” date. I can’t even remember how I got it, but I know I didn’t buy it.
Chrisma Intensive Moisture Cream is an unscented calming moisturizer with hyaluronic acid, allantoin, panthenol, ceramides, centella asiatica, and other goodies. The cream has no scent and a gel texture. Despite marketing promises of no stickiness, I find it pretty tacky on the skin, even after it has time to dry down.
My impressions
Eh, I don’t like this. It’s kind of a chore to finish. I can put up with a lot of things in my evening creams, but persistent tackiness isn’t one of them. Even just spreading the gel-cream on the skin isn’t very pleasant - it somehow feels tacky during application, not just after.
The jar is a generous 200ml, and the formula is full of beneficial ingredients, so I have been using this on my legs. It usually absorbs all the way overnight, and the slight tackiness doesn’t bother me much when it’s on the body. Applying Chrisma cream when the skin is still damp after a bath helps as well.
This was my first experience with the Chrisma brand; I’m not impressed. As usual with my negative reviews, I might not be the target audience. My skin isn’t very sensitive, so I don’t have to be militant about fragrance and other ingredients. For people who can only tolerate fragrance free, sensitive skin friendly products, this might be a lovely option.
