Chasin’ Rabbits Magic Beauty Shroom Review

Chasin’ Rabbits is a new to me brand. So far, I’ve tried the bath bomb (review here) and a sunscreen that’s so bad I don’t even want to give it away (review here). Today’s review is for their Magic Beauty Shroom.

Chasin’ Rabbits Magic Beauty Shroom is a vegan, cruelty free essence (which is somewhat hard to tell by the product name). It promises to soothe, hydrate, plump, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. This is a single ingredient product - 100% tremella mushroom extract, which I find fascinating. It’s available on Wishtrend (code LUCY15), YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Amazon, and Stylevana (code INF10KBH).

Tremella mushroom extract is rich in beta-glucan, collagen-mimicking substances, and vitamin D to support a healthy skin barrier and cell regeneration. Based on all of these benefits, I wouldn’t be surprised if tremella mushroom extract becomes the next cica or mugwort in the kbeauty world.

How to use:

  • Apply after cleansing

  • Gently pat in for best absorption

  • Feel free to use more than one layer for extra hydration and plumping

  • Follow with the rest of your routine

  • Can be used in the morning or evening

The Magic Beauty Shroom is a clear, watery substance with no noticeable color or scent (my sense of smell is still not completely back after an illness, but I don’t think this has any aroma at all). It’s very easy to spread and isn’t sticky or oily. I like the flip top lid for convenient one-handed dispensing.

My impressions

I have combination skin with some oily and dry areas and early signs of aging (sigh… by the way, I’m going to keep referring to them as “early” until I’m in a retirement home). Now that the weather is finally cooling off, my skin is in need of extra hydration and nourishment to keep it balanced. When my t-zone gets dehydrated, it produces what I call revenge oil, meanwhile the dry areas get flaky.

Chasin’ Rabbits Magic Beauty Shroom is a welcome part of my evening routine. I either use it right after cleansing (as suggested by the brand) or after a first treatment essence by another brand. I love layering skincare. Usually 1-2 layers is enough for my skin, but someone who’s very dry may enjoy a few more applications.

I love that the essence provides hydration without causing any congestion in the oily zones. It’s watery but still slightly thicker than actual water and has a tiny bit of a pleasant slip. I also see a noticeable plumping effect, especially in the forehead region and the nasolabial folds.

The packaging deserves a special mention - I love Chasin’ Rabbits designs, they make me want to put on a flowy floral skirt, let my hair down and go on an adventure in a van. It has all the hippie vibes and more. It’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it.
