I’m typically not into makeup, but it’s been really fun to try new products and looks. Expect more makeup reviews in the coming weeks and months! I’ve been committed to my Heimish mascara for years, but every so often I branch out and get something else. This time I went with a Japanese brand Canmake, because I’ve had good experiences with their makeup in the past.
Canmake Quick Lash Curler Mascara, available on YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), promises to curl the lashes and keep them that way all day. It comes with several colors. I chose Brown. The formula is waterproof and smudge proof.
How to use
Use alone for a more natural look or over your favorite mascara to boost the curl
The short side of the applicator lifts the lashes; the long side separates them
Do I ever read product descriptions when shopping? Sometimes… but I thought that mascara would be pretty self explanatory, so I didn’t go into details on this one before adding it to cart. I didn’t realize that it could be used over other mascaras. I just wanted a brown option for a more natural look.
My impressions
I wasn’t too sure about the applicator at first, but it’s growing on me (mostly because the formula is worth it). If I could change the applicator to a more traditional spoolie brush though, I would. My main complaint is that this style of wand takes more precision and more time to use vs a spoolie.
My lashes aren’t super curly or droopy, they are just kind of average. I haven’t noticed any curling effects from this mascara, but I wasn’t necessarily looking for that. I wanted to try a new formula and I wanted a brown color as opposed to my usual black.
Now for the positives - the formula is beautiful. It doesn’t clump, doesn’t flake, and comes off completely with any of the cleansing oils and balms I currently have (I tried it with at least 3 oil cleansers and never had racoon eyes). It doesn’t irritate the eyes or cause any discomfort. When I wear it, I look like myself but better. I stick with a conservative single coat, but I’m pretty sure the mascara could be layered for a more dramatic look. I almost never buy waterproof makeup, because the hassle of removal isn’t worth it to me. But Canmake Quick Lash Curler Mascara comes off easily enough and doesn’t bother my eyes during or after wear. It’s a win-win-win.
I’m happy with this purchase. It’s not a long-term replacement for my holy grail Heimish Dailism tubing mascara, but it’s a nice option for days when I want a softer look. I wouldn’t mind trying one of the other colors.
