Brillie Hand Wash Review

I suffer from dry, cracking hands in the best of times, but 2020 was something extra. I do not think I have ever used this much sanitizer. And, of course, having two small kids means I am always washing my hands.

Brillie hand wash came to me in a by Sophie box (check out the unboxing video here). It’s a refillable/reusable soap bottle. The refills look like shaved soap (or soap pellets?). The brand calls them granules, which is probably a much better marketing choice.

The refills are available in a variety of scents: almond, coconut, tropical orange, vanilla, and fresh. I have coconut and almond.

How to use:

  • Fill the bottle with water (instructions say to the water line, but I couldn’t find any markings so I just guessed)

  • Add the refill pack

  • Close the bottle, shake, enjoy

I couldn’t decide which scent to use first, so I let my husband choose, and we started with almond. The formula contains argan oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E derivatives to nourish the hands while washing away dirt and germs.

Please note - I am not yet seeing this on sale anywhere. Most likely, it's because this is a new product and I was one of the first people to try it. I will update the post when I see it available. In the meantime, here's a list of different places where I buy kbeauty.

My impressions

I’ve never been particularly passionate about soap, especially hand soap, but this impressed me. The foam is very soft, abundant, and fragrant. I generously placed this awesome bottle in the guest bathroom, so everyone has a chance to try it. The family loves the scent. The almond refill smells like amaretto. Aromas are hard for me to describe, so just trust me that this one is amazing.

Brillie soap is very gentle and a pleasure to use. I haven’t had any dryness issues. I wish I could pocket some and take it to work with me (office soap is crazy harsh on the hands, but that’s a whole other story). Anyway, it seems to be going down very slowly, so I’m not sure when I will even get to use the coconut refill. I thought I’d get this review out sooner rather than later, even if I can’t discuss the coconut scent yet. It probably smells like coconuts.

The bottle seems really sturdy and should last through many, many refills. I appreciate the brand’s desire to reduce packaging waste and also shipping weight by creating this format of a refillable bottle with water-free granules. No reason to ship heavy products that are mostly water.

I wish I could have a hand cream with a matching scent.

What is your favorite hand soap?
