AXIS-Y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule Review

This is a sponsored post with affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know AXIS-Y and their products, and I get genuinely excited for new releases (because so far, everything worked well for my skin). AXIS-Y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule is part of the brand’s “Water Your Skin” project, designed to provide essential moisture and hydration. You can read the toner review here and cream review here. Follow AXIS-Y on Instagram to make sure you don’t miss other new releases and giveaways.

The ampoule is available on the AXIS-Y official website; some of the brand's products are also sold on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT to save on every order).

AXIS-Y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule bottle

AXIS-Y uses 6+1+1 Advanced Formula skincare, which stands for 6 key / active ingredients, 1 core ingredient, and 1 effective technology. In this ampoule, the core ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which helps with moisture levels and supports cellular walls to minimize the appearance of pores. The other 6 beneficial components are: centella asiatica, madecassic acid, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassoside, and purslane. The first five are all derivatives of the centella plant and are known for their ability to soothe irritated skin, support natural healing processes, and reduce redness; purslane has similar properties. In addition, the ampoule features a special complex of plants to help control sebum and reduce bacteria. A full list is available at the end of the article.

How to use:

  • Apply to clean skin after toner

  • Gently pat in Seal in with moisturizer

AXIS-Y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule bottle with a dropper out

AXIS-Y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule has a wonderful texture - it’s a little thicker than the toner from the same line, yet not so thick that a dropper wouldn’t work. And when spread on the skin, it feels like a hydrating watery gel. My combination skin drinks it right up without any greasiness or oiliness. I like to apply it while the skin is still damp from toner, then seal in with moisturizer right away to keep as much of the hydration in the skin as possible. I prefer to use this with the other Water Your Skin products, but it also works as part of a mixed-brand routine.

My impressions

I’m completely obsessed with this whole line. It’s so soothing, hydrating, and lightweight yet effective. I have combination skin with some oily and some dry areas. It’s not really sensitive, but can get red easily from things like scratching an itch or picking at a pimple. I also get occasional breakouts. I love having easy to use soothing products on hand for when my skin isn’t behaving.

I’m writing this at the very end of 2021, after taking a trip to Colorado which totally sucked all the moisture out of my skin (I never knew low humidity was a bad thing). I took some travel sized items with me, but they just didn’t do enough. Now that I’m back, I’m “watering” my skin with AXIS-Y and watching it spring back to life. I love how plump and hydrated my face looks, including the fine lines on the forehead.

Overall, a great ampoule from what is now one of my favorite brands. Highly recommend.
