I talked all about sunscreens and my best tips for sun protection in this video. In short, I find SPF to be the most important skincare step, so I’m constantly using and buying new sunscreens. One of my current products is Aromatica Calendula Non Nano UV Protection. I loved all other #Aromatica products I’ve tried, so I had no concerns ordering this sunblock.
Aromatica Calendula Non Nano UV Protection holds the EWG 2016 and 2017 award for “Best Sun Cream”. It uses physical filters and organic and natural ingredients. No animal byproducts, no mineral oil, and no synthetic fragrances, parabens, or phthalates. It’s sold on eBay and Jolse.
The product is advertised as being hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin and even pregnant women and infants (but always check with your healthcare provider first). It provides broad spectrum protection from UVA & UVB rays. SPF30 PA+++.

My impressions: I really wanted to love this product. It’s everything I want - vegan, mineral, non-nano, has no synthetic fragrances or parabens. However, Aromatica Calendula Non Nano UV Protection ended up being one of my biggest sunscreen fails of all time. You can watch some of my other Korean beauty fails in this video.
This sunscreen is very sticky, thick, and leaves a horrible white cast on my already fair skin. I have combination skin and prefer to not feel like I’m covered in grease all day long. Even wearing powder over this doesn’t improve the sticky feeling much. It’s too heavy for me even during the cold and dry winter months.
I won’t pitch it, because I’m anti unnecessary waste, so I will use it up on my legs and arms while I garden. But for my face it’s a hard no. And trust me, I tried to make it work. It’s just not worth the effort. Maybe someone with very dry skin would love this, but it’s simply not for me.
