Amuse Dew Balm Review

I didn’t expect to like the Barbie movie, and I definitely didn’t expect to lust after some of the makeup colors Margot Robbie wore on screen. Typically, pinks aren’t my vibe, but some of the lipsticks looked so great that I wanted something similar. Of course, Lisa Eldridge lipsticks used on set cost $30+ a pop, plus nobody says which specific ones were used in which scenes. The best I could find was a list of lipstick and lip gloss colors that were combined for different shots. I would have to get them all and try out different combinations to see how close I could get. Um… that’s an expensive experiment.

Kbeauty to the rescue, as always. Amuse is one of my favorite discoveries of 2023 - they make wonderful lippies. I haven’t had their Dew Balms yet, so I grabbed one on Jolse. The balms come in 6 variations; I chose 06 Dew Rose - a cool tone dewy rose petal color. It's also available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), Olive Young (code KBHOBBIT77), and iHerb (code CWN6107).

Amuse Dew Balm

Amuse Dew Balm is infused with squalane and apple seed oil to moisturize and provide a glowy finish.

How to use

  • Apply to lips when desired

  • Layer different colors for a unique effect

The texture is a bit firmer than a traditional lip balm, still allowing the product to glide on easily. I think naming this a balm was perhaps a mistake. When I hear “balm”, I think of very little color, but the Amuse Dew Balm has beautiful pigment. I would have called this a cream lipstick, but nobody asked for my input.

This will leave some marks on mugs and people, but when the creamy layer eventually wears off, it leaves behind a pretty stain / tint that lasts for a few hours. The balm does a wonderful job moisturizing the lips while still looking like lipstick. It provides a great color without drawing attention to dry patches.

My impressions

Pictures do not do this color justice, despite my best effort. It’s a beautiful cool pink that doesn’t scream “Barbie” in a traditional sense, yet has the same vibe as my favorite looks from the movie. I wasn’t really trying to recreate anything when ordering the Amuse Dew Balm - I just wanted to try this line of their lippies since I like their other lines. But it all worked out in the end.

I love how smooth and soft my lips feel when I wear the dew balm. The color is noticeable but fades evenly, so it doesn’t have to be reapplied if I don’t feel like it. It’s perfect for a casual weekend look or for a fancier event (perhaps paired with a more intense eye look). Wins all around.

Amuse Dew Balm

I highly recommend trying #Amuse lip products - they are well priced and work great. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like, and I tried four different lines so far. I will keep trying whatever they come out with as well.
