Neogen Dermalogy White Truffle Hydromax Knit Mask Review

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

I have combination skin which tends to get oily in the t-zone. For years, since I was a teenager, I fought the oiliness with everything I could - harsh facial cleansers, alcohol wipes (gasp! How do I even have skin still??), lots of powder and so on. I just didn’t know any better. Now that I’ve been out of high school for a little over a decade, I know better and do better. The best way to keep the oil under control has been to properly hydrate the skin, especially during the cold Fall and Winter months.

I’m an avid sheet mask user, and at this point masks rarely surprise me. However, I have not had a knit sheet mask before, so I picked up the Neogen Dermalogy White Truffle Hydromax Knit Mask, available on* eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle. It looked promising - a thick base of knit material soaked in a generous 2oz (60ml) of essence. 2 ounces, guys! That’s pretty much an entire bottle of essence, all packed into one mask. Wow.

Active ingredients:

  • White Truffle - helps maintain a healthy skin balance

  • Ceramide - supports the skin barrier

  • Niacinamide - helps with pigmentation and has anti-aging properties

  • Hyaluronic Acid - hydrates

  • Propolis Extract - protects and soothes

This mask covers not only the face, but also the neck. And it doesn’t have those awkward ear loops that a lot of masks with a neck portion seem to have (those loops never quite fit my ears well!).

How to use:

  1. Cleanse the face and use toner

  2. Apply the mask over the face and neck

  3. Leave on for 20 minutes or so, then remove and pat in the remaining essence

My impressions:

I never knew putting what is essentially a wet sweater on my face would be so satisfying. The thick material is so soft and luxurious against the skin. There is a lot of essence in it, so you can keep it on longer than the suggested 20 minutes without the mask drying out. I think I kept it on for 30-40 minutes and it was still very much wet when I removed it. My skin was so happy and full of moisture afterwards. I prefer sealing it with a simple cream and going straight to bed, then waking up with a glowing, refreshed face.
