Last week, the temperature outside was -15 F (- 26 C), and with windchill it was “feels like -40C”. I’m personally not a stranger to this type of weather (having grown up in Russia and all), but most people around here were shocked. Schools closed, businesses had a late start, the roads were empty. Unfortunately, the skin takes a real beating with not just the cold, but also the dry heated indoor air. And one of my most problematic areas when it comes to dryness are my lips. They crack, hurt, and bleed.
I’ve had one lip oil before (review here) and was completely in love with it. This time, I decided to try something with a bit of color in it and ordered the MISSHA Essential Lip Oil in Berry. It’s available on* eBay, Amazon, YesStyle and Cosmetic Love. Please note that there must have been a packaging change. Based on the descriptions, the products inside are the same or nearly the same. I have the kind that’s in my pictures, obviously.
This product contains avocado oil and raspberry seed oil to moisturize and protect the lips, making them soft and healthy, along with vitamin E to promote healing.

How to use:
Apply to dry, clean lips
That’s it!
My impressions:
The oil combines two fantastic benefits - lip care and a slight decorative makeup twist. The red in the bottle looks quite intimidating, but it goes on sheer with just a subtle hint of beautiful color. It makes me look like myself but better, and reminds me of the “no makeup makeup” looks in some TV shows (you know the type - where the main character wakes up in the morning with perfect skin, tinted lashes, and moist, pink lips. She then immediately pounces on her male counterpart, ignoring the fact that most real humans wake up with wicked morning breath).
This isn’t meant to be a long lasting or transfer-proof product. It doesn’t cause any huge imprints on mugs or people, but it will leave a slight red/pink mark. I still feel it on my lips after coffee and breakfast, and it hydrates well for several hours. If you want to preserve the effect of the color on the lips, you will have to reapply it. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants lip care with a hint of color.
