Let me make one thing super clear - sun and I do not get along, so it’s definitely not my “bae” (which stands for “before anyone else”). My skin only has two color possibilities - super pale or burnt-to-the-crisp red. That’s it. I couldn’t get a tan even if I wanted one, and that’s OK with me.
I do love a good soothing mask, however. The FaceTory Sun Bae Soothing Mask came in one of my summer Facetory boxes (read more about those here) and is available to be purchased on its own on the Facetory site.
The mask promises to restore your skin to its best shape after a hot day in the sun. It’s Fall right now, but my combination skin takes just as much (if not more) of a beating as it does in the Summer - between the cold outdoor air and the drying indoor heat, I can use all the soothing and hydration that I can get.
Active ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract - soothes and hydrates
Jojoba Seed Oil - works as an emollient while unclogging hair follicles
Betaine - helps retain moisture and reduce wrinkles
How to use:
Apply to a clean face after toner
Relax for 10-15 minutes
Remove and follow with the rest of your routine

My impressions:
The very first thing I noticed about this mask is how wide it is. It’s quite a bit wider than the typical Korean beauty sheet masks I’m used to. I thought it would be too large for my face, but instead it reaches right to the ears, which is actually nice since the skin there needs hydration as well. The fit, as you can see in the picture, ended up being very good.
I’m fairly picky about sheet masks, and if the serum doesn’t fully absorb or leave me with a sticky feeling, I splash the remaining product off before using cream (there are people who disagree with that approach, which is completely their business. I won’t argue with them). However, my skin drank this mask right up. I had no stickiness at all, and barely any residue. The feeling was fantastic. So I just used a Purito Sea Buckthorn cream right after (review here) and called it a night. I definitely felt the hydration and soothing effects that the mask promised. I would buy this mask again.
