Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack Review

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

What’s in your first aid kit? Probably some bandages, antibiotic cream, something for a headache and a fever. Mine also has acne-fighting masks, just in case (although I keep them in a separate spot). I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry-to-normal cheeks, and the breakouts are rare. But when they do happen, it is so annoying! A good sheet mask used at the first signs of trouble can make a huge difference.

My latest “emergency” mask is Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Asiatica Mask Pack, available on* eBay and YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings).

This mask is recommended for the following skin concerns:

  • Dehydration

  • Redness from external irritants or acne

  • Dryness and itchiness

  • Poor oil-water balance

The Goodbye Redness mask doesn’t contain any toxic/harmful ingredients and is safe even for the most sensitive skin.

Active ingredients:

  • Centella asiatica - also known as tiger grass because of a legend that tigers rolled in it to heal their wounds. Centella is a beloved ingredient in Korean skincare for its healing and calming properties and is often found in products for acne prone and sensitive skin types

  • Sodium hyaluronate - attracts moisture to the skin for superior hydration

  • Asiatic acid, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, and madecassoside - derivatives of centella asiatica, these powerful ingredients heal the skin, reduce redness, and help prevent future breakouts

How to use:

  1. Apply to a clean face after toner (Benton recommends using a warm wet towel first to open pores)

  2. Leave on for 10-20 minutes

  3. Discard and lock in the moisture with your favorite cream (I have some reviews here)

My impressions:

I’m quickly becoming a Benton fan (you can read my other reviews of their products here). The simple, safe, non-toxic ingredients are certainly appealing, but what’s more important is that they work. My skin decided to let me thoroughly test these Goodbye Redness masks by having a surprise breakout. Perfect… After the very first sheet mask, the redness was less noticeable. By morning, it was almost nonexistent (no, I didn’t sleep in the mask, but the essence does continue working after the sheet is removed). I did another sheet mask the following night and pretty much “cured” the breakout.

The sheet masks are soft and pleasant, the fit is great - no sliding, slipping, or dripping. I couldn’t detect any scent, which is just fine with me. After removal, the remaining essence gets absorbed quite quickly without a sticky residue. I think I’m adding them to my typical SOS skincare regimen (read about that in this article). These be great as part of a beauty arsenal of anyone with sensitive, acne prone skin or people like me who want to stop an occasional breakout as quickly as possible. Read about other sheet masks I’ve tried here.
