Purito ABP Triple Synergy Liquid Review

Updated: Oct 24, 2020

Skin exfoliants can be largely grouped into two categories - physical and chemical. Physical ones remove dead cells and debris “mechanically” with friction and usually come in a form of a scrub. Chemical exfoliants vary in intensity and use different acids to lift away, dissolve, and remove buildup.

The new Purito ABP Triple Synergy Liquid combines three kinds of chemical exfoliants (hence the name) - AHA, BHA and PHA. AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and PHA (polyhydroxy acid) are water-soluble, gentle acids (depending on concentration) that typically do not cause sensitivity to light. BHA (beta hydroxy acid) is fat soluble and penetrates deeper into the skin. BHA is loved by people with oily, troubled skin and enlarged pores. This new Purito toner is available on eBay and Amazon. The manufacturer claims it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive. All of the ingredients are EWG (Environmental Working Group) certified as green/safe.

Main ingredients:

  • AHA (Mandelic Acid) - derived from almonds, this gentle acid helps with uneven skin tone / pigmentation and improves fine lines and wrinkles

  • BHA (Betaine Salicylate) - evens skin tone and texture

  • PHA (Gluconolactone) - offers all the benefits of AHAs but is even gentler on the skin

  • Apple Fruit Water - a low-irritant, gentle exfoliator

  • Panthenol - provitamin B5; moisturizes and acts as an emollient

  • Sodium Hyaluronate - attracts environmental moisture to the skin, hydrating it

For the purpose of this product test, I had my husband use the Triple Synergy Liquid on himself. He has oily, thick skin with enlarged pores that clog impressively fast. Normally, I would do the testing myself, but BHA is considered unsafe during pregnancy, so I cannot touch the stuff in my current delicate state :)

How to use:

  1. Apply after cleansing

  2. Use a cotton pad saturated in the liquid to gently wipe the face or apply with hands

  3. Follow with the rest of your routine

Impressions:

It’s always fun to try and have someone else test the product and usually results in some hilarious conversations.

Me: - Husband, are you using your new toner?

Husband: - Mmm, yes… How often should I use it, again?

Me: - About 3 times a week or so.

Husband: - Well, then I remember about it right on schedule.

I did see the amount in the bottle decreasing, so I know it’s being used. I can also see a huge difference in his skin. While his skin has gotten better when I started nagging him about skincare a couple of years ago (read about his typical routine here), there was still room for improvement. I don’t advocate at-home extractions, but if I occasionally got around to his nose, huge amounts of sebum would burst out. That is absolutely not the case anymore. The pores are clear and look a lot smaller. He complained of dryness once, and it’s because he was only using the toner and nothing else (no emulsion, no cream, nothing!) and thinking that was all the skincare he needed. I think this toner would be ok to use daily, if you so desire, but since his hydrating and moisturizing steps are hit and miss, I decided to ask him to try for just three days a week.

Even as an “outsider” to this testing, I see great results. As someone who pays attention to people’s skin in general, and to my family’s in particular, I can see how husband’s skin is more matte, clear, and the pores are visibly smaller. Based on that and the fact that I have great luck with Purito products in general (read my reviews here), I am confidently recommending this ABP Triple Synergy Liquid to people who want similar results.
