Tosowoong Natural Pure Apricot Seed Cleansing Oil Review

Oil cleansers is one of my favorite categories of Korean skincare. Western products of this type are also available, but my first experiences with oil cleansing came from Korean beauty world. Today, I’m a big fan of this important step that dissolves and removes makeup, sunscreen, primers and anything else that could clog pores. They aren’t “oily” - they are rich and emollient, and when mixed with water emulsify, turn white, and rinse off clean.

The Tosowoong Natural Pure Apricot Seed Cleansing Oil is an affordable, botanically-based product for the first step cleansing. It’s available on eBay, Amazon and Cosmetic Love.

Active ingredients:

  • Apricot seed oil (40%) - removes dead cells, makeup and impurities

  • Jojoba oil - an emollient that moisturizes and helps keep the skin firm by stimulating collagen production

  • Argan oil - supports a healthy skin barrier

  • Lemon extract - naturally high in vitamin C, supports an even skin tone

The cleansing oil is hypoallergenic and is supposed to remove even waterproof makeup. I don’t wear waterproof, so no experience with that particular claim.

How to use:

  1. Apply with clean, dry hands to a dry face

  2. Massage for a couple of minutes to dissolve makeup and impurities. I use it on my eyes as well with no irritation

  3. Rinse off with water

  4. Follow with a foaming cleanser

My impressions:

This is a great, affordable cleansing oil. The scent is mild and pleasant, a mix of apricots and something citrusy. The cleanser does a great job at removing all makeup, including eye makeup, without any residue. I only wear mascara and an occasional eyeshadow/liner, so nothing too heavy, but it’s still amazing to have a cleansing oil that works on both the face and the eyes this well.

The texture and consistency are just right - not runny and very smooth. I really enjoy massaging my face with this oil and watching all of the dirt of the day dissolve. This cleansing oil can be used in the morning and at night, but I only use it at night. Overall, it’s a very nice, affordable product that would suit any skin type (mine is combination).
