Cosmetea Tea Blossoms Hand Cream Review

Dry hands is a huge problem for me all year long. In the winter, they get bad to the point of cracking and bleeding, although last year I managed to control that fairly well with the help of Korean skincare. Still, I try not to let the problem get out of hand (see what I did there?) since prevention is almost always easier than treatment. I saw this lonely tube in a local store and picked it up. My mom bought the whole gift set for herself and allowed me to take pictures of her tubes, but I have only used the Moisture Care kind. Both the sets and individual creams are available on eBay and Amazon.

This adorable series of hand creams includes three varieties:

  • Nourishing care - black tea + hibiscus. Best for dry hands with signs of aging

  • Moisture care - white tea + peony. Best for cracked and dry hands

  • Hydra care - green tea + cherry blossom. Best for hands that need light hydration without feeling sticky.

The brand’s unique 3 Blending System combines tea water, botanical extracts, and botanical oils to create effective products.

Moisture Care active ingredients:

  • White tea - extracted from the minimally processed green tea buds. Out of all teas, white and green have the highest concentration of antioxidants.

  • Peony blossom - tones and firms the epidermis, stimulating skin’s natural defense mechanisms. Provides softening, anti-aging, and anti-inflammatory effects.

  • Shea butter - a well-known moisturizer that softens and nourishes the skin.

A note about cetyl alcohol in the ingredients. I have noticed a tendency in the amateur skincare circles to automatically write off all alcohols as bad. But, in fact, alcohols are not all the same. Cetyl alcohol is one of fatty alcohols, which are not irritating and are beneficial to the skin, especially dry skin. They also make products pleasant in texture and help stabilize ingredients.

How to use:

  1. Apply a small amount to clean, dry hands

  2. Gently massage in

  3. Repeat as needed

My impressions:

This is a lovely cream. The packaging is cute and functional, and the tube size is just right for a purse. The scent is lovely - white must cedar wood base note, white tea with peony rose for the middle note, and apple as the top note (thanks to the brand for describing it so well as I definitely am not very good at relating scents verbally). The texture is silky and light while still moisturizing. The product gets absorbed quickly without a sticky residue and makes the hands so soft.

I don’t take this cream with me - it sort of lives next to the TV on an end table and I put it on in the evenings. My poor husband has crazy dry hands that feel so rough (especially the fingertips). I’ve been sneakily giving him a small dollop of this cream every evening and his hands are so much better now.
